KARACHI: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has sanctioned an increase of 33 paise per unit in electricity charges as part of the quarterly adjustment, affecting Karachi and the entire country.
This approval pertains to the adjustment for the period from July to September 2025, with the new rates set to be applied from December 2025 to February 2026. The adjustment is projected to result in an additional Rs 6.67 billion cost for electricity consumers nationwide.
Nepra has officially forwarded its decision to the federal government via a formal notification, paving the way for the implementation of the revised electricity tariffs.
