Closing date revealed for Disney’s Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith

  • December 13, 2025

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – Time is running out to experience those final “Walk This Way” moments at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

On Friday, Disney officially announced that the final day of operations for Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith will be March 1 and March 2 will be the official closing date.

For more than two decades, guests have lived life in the fast lane inside Aerosmith’s Hollywood music studio before hopping into a super-stretch limousine to zoom through the city, listening to Aerosmith hits like “Walk This Way,” “Sweet Emotion” and “Back in the Saddle.”

But the music and theme are about to change. The new attraction will keep the same thrilling layout but replace Aerosmith with the Electric Mayhem band.

Opening next summer, Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster starring The Muppets will follow the original plot: the Electric Mayhem is in the middle of a recording session at G-Force Records when their manager, Scooter, races to get them to a concert on time. Guests will enjoy a twisting, turning limousine ride through Hollywood with a Muppet twist on the iconic scenery.

Scooter will appear as an audio-animatronics figure, joined by other Muppet characters. The ride’s famous guitar outside the attraction will stay but get a vibrant, psychedelic redesign featuring a golden key nod to Dr. Teeth, the band leader.

Disney first announced the Muppets would be getting a new home at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in November 2024, when it revealed a Monsters, Inc.-themed land, officially named Monstropolis, would replace the former Muppet Courtyard, which closed in June.

An official opening date for the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster starring The Muppets has not yet been revealed.
