A song by She & Him is going viral 17 years later!
The music duo, made up of Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward, released “I Thought I Saw Your Face Today” back in March of 2008 on their album Volume One.
As of December 2025, it’s got hundreds of thousands of videos using the sound on TikTok.

The track follows Zooey as she reflects on a time she thought she saw a former flame’s face, only to then debate whether or not to reflect on those times.
“I thought I saw your face today, but I just turned my head away / Your face against the trees / But I just see the memories as they come, as they come / And I couldn’t help but fall in love again,” she sings.
“The cars and freeways implore me to stay away out of this place / My mother said ‘Just keep your head and play it as it lays.’”
The TikTok trend sees people sharing various inner thoughts or nostalgic, emotional memories.
