Coronation Street fans watched two characters quit Weatherfield for a new life in Singapore during recent scenes of the ITV soap opera.
Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) and her daughter Laila Bailey (Raiya Walton) final scenes played out during Friday’s (December 19) episode which is now available to watch on ITVX.
In emotional scenes, Dee-Dee was seen saying her goodbyes to her family including dad Ed Bailey (Trevor Michael Georges) and uncle Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) before heading into a taxi with her little girl as they start a new life in Singapore.
Their final scenes sparked reaction on social media, with one fan penned: “I appreciate that characters come and go frequently but this one has hit me quite hard.
“I was a huge fan of Dee Dee and thought CSB was a phenomenal actress. She won the British Soap Award for Best Newcomer in 2023 and had firmly established herself as an important cast member.

“Unfortunately after Joel got killed off, Dee Dee got into a bit of a rut where it seemed the writers didn’t know what to do with her.
“The adoption storyline with James was awkward and didn’t do much for anyone involved. I will definitely miss her.”
Another added: “I’ll miss her. I know she’s not done much since the whole Joel thing but I enjoy her character and liked seeing her fun outfits.”
A third person said: “Well that was kept quiet Dee Dee’s last episode is today. #Corrie.” A fourth added: “Well that was an understated exit for Dee Dee. #Corrie.”

Lawyer Dee-Dee, who has been living in Weatherfield since 2022, decided that it was time to move on earlier this week after being a new job.
The character has been at the centre of some huge storylines from getting pregnant by evil solicitor Joel Deering (Calum Lill) to letting her brother James Bailey (Jason Callender) adopt daughter Laila after struggling to come to terms with being a mum.
However, Dee-Dee struggled to maintain an emotional distance from her daughter and the pair have now moved away for a fresh start on the other side of the world.
