Michelle Pfeiffer

Michelle Pfeiffer, Grease 2

Michelle got blunt about her feelings about the sequel to Grease.

“I hated that film (Grease 2) with a vengeance and could not believe how bad it was. At the time, was young and didn’t know better… I hear it’s a cult movie now,” she told Hollywood.com back in 2007.

Sally Field

Sally Field, The Amazing Spider-Man

Sally said that she was “not especially” a fan of her role in the Spider-Man movies, adding “it’s not my kind of movie” to Howard Stern.

The motivation was all because of a friend, who was sadly dying: “My friend Laura Ziskin was the producer, and we knew it would be her last film, and she was my first producing partner, and she was a spectacular human.”

“It’s really hard to find a three-dimensional character in it, and you work it as much as you can, but you can’t put ten pounds of s–t in a five-pound bag,” she added of the role.

Michelle Pfeiffer

George Clooney, Batman & Robin

George has famously poked fun at his role in the superhero film over the years in interviews.

“With hindsight it’s easy to look back at this and go ‘Woah, that was really s–t and I was really bad in it.’ It was a difficult film to be good in. I don’t know what I could have done differently. But if I am going to be Batman in the film Batman & Robin, I can’t say it didn’t work and then not take some of the blame for that,” he told Total Film.

“I am the least qualified person to comment on anyone playing the role of Batman since I so terribly destroyed the part,” he later told Empire.

Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence, Passengers

“I was like, ‘Oh no, you guys are here because I’m here, and I’m here because you’re here. Wait, who decided that this was a good movie?’” Jennifer said of disappointing her fanbase by taking on the role.

“Adele told me not to do it! She was like, ‘I feel like space movies are the new vampire movies.’ I should have listened to her,” she revealed. The movie currently has a 30% Rotten Tomatoes score.

Eddie Redmayne

Sandra Bullock, Speed 2

“I have one no one came around to and I’m still embarrassed I was in. It’s called Speed 2. I’ve been very vocal about it. Makes no sense. Slow boat. Slowly going towards an island,” she said.

“That’s one I wished I hadn’t done and no fans came around, that I know of, except for you,” she said to Daniel Radcliffe in an interview.

Eddie Redmayne

Eddie Redmayne, The Danish Girl

Eddie Redmayne would not reprise his role in The Danish Girl, in which he played a transgender woman, Lili Elbe.

“No, I wouldn’t take it on now. I made that film with the best intentions, but I think it was a mistake. The bigger discussion about the frustrations around casting is because many people don’t have a chair at the table. There must be a levelling, otherwise we are going to carry on having these debates,” he recently said.

Shia LaBeouf

Shia LaBeouf, Indiana Jones & The Crystal Skull

Shia LaBeouf didn’t like Indiana Jones, or any collaboration with Steven Spielberg.

“I grew up with this idea, if you got to Spielberg, that’s where it is. [Then] you get there, and you realize you’re not meeting the Spielberg you dream of. You’re meeting a different Spielberg, who is in a different stage in his career. He’s less a director than he is a f–king company…the only movie I liked that we made together was Transformers 1,” he told Variety.

He added that he felt he “dropped the ball on the legacy that people loved and cherished.”
