While we could be waiting for a while before Apple finally unveils the iPhone Fold, a new mockup has appeared online that users can 3D print today. And it looks quite different from other foldable phones.

The iPhone Fold is tipped to have a 4:3 aspect ratio when open, making the screen wider than most current foldables. This could help prevent the “black bar” problem when watching videos. The Z Fold 7’s inner display has a 10:9 aspect ratio, so it’s more square. However, Samsung is reportedly working on a wide version of the Galaxy Z Fold as well.

The mockup comes to us from a user named Subsy, who uploaded what they claim is a 1:1 iPhone Fold replica on the site MakerWorld. The design is claimed to be “based on recently leaked CAD drawings of the ‌iPhone‌ Fold,” but doesn’t showcase the phone’s internal engineering. Instead, it offers a physical reference of the new device that you can actually hold.

However, there is one minor issue: the leaked CAD renders that the phone is based on don’t actually exist. As noted by MacRumors, the referenced leaks were likely the ones drawn by MacRumors reader iZac back in May. While these were based on the current rumors around the device, they by no means confirm any of the actual phone’s dimensions.

7.8-inch main display and a 5.5-inch outer screen on the iPhone Fold. These are roughly the same dimensions used in the model. While it might fall behind the 8-inch main display seen on the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Apple has a trick up its sleeve that could make the difference.

Several rumors have surfaced indicating that Apple is working on creating the first creaseless foldable display. If accurate, then the iPhone Fold could have a very good shot of making our best foldable phones list.

Of course, a foldable phone is only as good as its hinge and, thankfully, it appears Apple may not disappoint in this area. Apparently, the iPhone Fold will make use of a revolutionary new ‘liquid metal’ hinge.

Unfortunately, the iPhone Fold is rumored to feature just two rear cameras, so it may lack a telephoto zoom. And it’s rumored $2,399 price tag could scare off some would-be shoppers.

We’ll have to wait until September 2026 for the rumored reveal of the iPhone Fold alongside the iPhone 18 Pro series. If it does indeed appear, then we can see just how legit 1:1 this mockup really is.
