To streamline the payment of taxes and license fees, the Uganda Revenue Authority is strengthening its relationship with mobile wallets, including those of telecom companies. To date, the majority of financial transactions occur through mobile wallets, prompting a shift in tax payment systems. According to John Musinguzi, the URA Commissioner General, this will help capture small taxpayers and informal businesses that rarely transact through banks.
