Dimes Media San Luis Obispo King CityDimes Media is seeking a waiver to purchase 101.3 KERW Los Osos-Baywood Park/San Luis Obispo CA from Santa Monica Community College for $237,500. The deal, if approved would give Dimes Media a fifth full-powered FM in the San Luis Obispo market, one more than the limit for the number of signals in the market.

In requesting the waiver for KERW to join Dimes existing four FMs and one AM in the San Luis Obispo market, Dimes Media notes that were the market to be considered simply by the contour overlap method utilized in unrated markets, the deal would be allowed as 100.5 KXDZ is terrain blocked. Dimes currently owns AAA “KPIG” 94.9 KPYG Cayucos, Variety Hits “The Beach” 95.3 KXTZ Pismo Beach/100.5 KXDZ Templeton, CHR “Wild 106.1” KWWV Santa Margarita, and Classic Country “The Grade” 1340 KYNS San Luis Obispo.

KERW currently operates as non-commercial license airing “Eclectic 24” simulcasting KCRW-HD2 Santa Monica/Los Angeles.
