While the volume of international internet channels per user in Azerbaijan was 311.5 kbit/s in 2023, it increased 2.8 times in 2024 to 863.1 kbit/s, APA-Economics reports, citing its calculations based on data from the State Statistical Committee.
Overall, the volume of international internet channels also increased, reaching 8,020.6 Gbit/s in 2024 from 3,807.5 Gbit/s in 2023. This represents a 2.1-fold increase.
While the number of active mobile broadband internet subscribers was 8 million in 2023, it increased by 14.3% last year, reaching 9.2 million. The number of mobile internet subscribers per 100 people also increased from 86.7 in 2023 to 90.4 in 2024.
The number of fixed broadband internet subscribers increased from 1.97 million in 2023 to 2.32 million in 2024. This represents a 17.8% year-over-year growth.
The number of subscribers by speed categories has also increased. In particular, those using speeds from 10 Mbit/s to 100 Mbit/s increased from 829.3 thousand in 2023 to 843.6 thousand in 2024. The number of subscribers using speeds of 100 Mbit/s and above rose from 224.1 thousand in 2023 to 943.4 thousand in 2024. This means a 4.2-fold increase.
