A few days before Christmas, an Instagram follower asked Ellen whether her children would spend Christmas with their dads.
Through her Instagram Stories, she revealed that her daughter Liana would spend the holidays with her estranged husband, while her son Elias would stay with his father, John Lloyd Cruz.

“Yes, Elias is spending Christmas with John Lloyd and this is the first time ever na not divided yung time because before it was half-half.
“So, yes, Elias is spending Christmas with John Lloyd, but he will be with me after Christmas, New Year’s.”
Ellen also shared that she initially declined the idea of Liana joining the UK trip.
However, after Derek’s father personally requested it, she eventually gave her approval.
She continued: “Liana… I allowed Liana to go with her father’s family because nakiusap man ang papa ni Derek, day, if Liana could go, if I could reconsider.
“At first, I didn’t allow, but he’s sick and I don’t want to carry that guilt because who knows what’s going to happen?
“I don’t want to carry that guilt na I didn’t allow Liana to spend time with her grandfather, you know? Can I sleep peacefully at night if something happens to him and I didn’t allow her? So there.”
