Taylor’s pop perfection track spent a whopping 9 weeks at Number 1 on the EE Official Big Top 40!

Taylor Swift’s ‘The Fate Of Ophelia’ is the Number 1 song of 2025!

It’s officially the last chart of the year, so to celebrate all the incredible music from 2025, we counted down the top 40 songs that have blessed our ears over the last 365 days.
Swifties were treated to a 12th studio album from Taylor in 2025; ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’ broke records and topped charts around the globe, with ‘The Fate Of Ophelia’ being our biggest song of the year.
Coming in at a close second was Rosé and Bruno Mars’ catchy bop ‘APT.’. The duo spent 7 weeks at Number 1 and a huge 40 weeks total in the Top 40! This wasn’t Bruno’s only hit of the year.
His stunning collaboration with Lady Gaga ‘Die With A Smile’ continued to dominate the charts after being released in 2024, coming in at 20th place in the song of the year rankings. The song charted for 42 weeks in 2025!
Speaking of Lady Gaga, she had a huge year! Releasing her seventh solo studio album ‘Mayhem’, Gaga dominated the charts with two brand new tracks, ‘The Dead Dance’ and ‘Abracadabra’, both of which made it into into the our top 10 songs of the year chart.
Ed Sheeran had the most entries in the final Top 40 of the year, with 4 tracks from his latest album ‘Play’ including ‘Azizam’ and ‘Sapphire’.
Myles Smith, Teddy Swims and Chappell Roan all had multiple entries in the chart across the year.
Benson Boone’s ‘Beautiful Things’ has spent a mind-blowing 101 weeks in the Top 40 since its release at the beginning of 2024!
What an incredible year it’s been for music! We can’t wait to see what 2026 has in store for us.
