“He’s just a superstar.”

It took just four words from jockey Rachel King to sum up Warwoven‘s claims on the $3 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m) following the explosive colt’s demolition job at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

As King enthusiastically pointed out, the Bjorn Baker-trained sensation barely broke a sweat, cantering past his rivals as thought they were standing still to claim victory by more than three lengths in the 2YO clash over 1200m.

The bookmakers’ pencils moved swiftly – Warwoven firmed into $2.20 favouritism for the 2YO Classic (1200m) on the Gold Coast next Saturday week.

Meanwhile, the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Lumbini drifted to $8 after playing second fiddle to the rampaging Warwoven on Saturday.

Chris and Corey Munce‘s star juvenile Zip Lock is now the second favourite at $6.

“It’s always great to win and it’s not so much about today, it’s more about having a good hitout for two weeks in terms of getting to the Magic Millions,” a jubilant Baker said.

“One thing he did do well today, which I was very happy with, he paraded beautifully and he was lovely and relaxed.”

Both Baker and King were positively glowing about Warwoven’s exemplary temperament across his two impressive victories at Randwick and now Eagle Farm.

“I think the one thing when I’ve been lucky enough to win the Magic Millions twice before (last year with O’ Ole and in 2014 with Unencumbered) is that the horses have had great attitudes and he’s definitely got that,” Baker said.

“It just carries you so far, particularly in a high-pressure race and a high-pressure time of the year.

“It’s pretty special. We’d love to get there and try and hold him together for another two weeks.

“It would’ve been amazing if he and Paradoxium could’ve been there together but we’ve got Masvingo in the race as well so it’s exciting.”

King said while Warwoven had not yet been put under pressure, she believed the classy colt would easily handle it in a high stakes Magic Millions.

“He’s just a superstar horse,” she said.

“He’s been like that since day one – his first start he was the same when he executed perfectly.

“He’s got the right attitude for it, nothing worries him.

“So far we haven’t found anything that does bother him and I don’t think anything will.

“He’s just got that good horse attitude and the class to go with it.”

Warwoven finished streets ahead of Lumbini ($3.10) and $51 roughie Leaves Of Lorien.

The six horses in the field were forced to wait for several minutes while barrier attendants unsuccessfully tried to load the Chris and Corey Munce-trained filly Say You Will ($8), who was scratched.

“He (Warwoven) had to stand in the gates for a long time today which wasn’t good for him – not because he’s naughty or anything but he just goes to sleep in there,” King said.

“He’s so quiet. I had to get him to move his feet a touch before the gates opened.

“All these experiences are helping him and he’s getting better every start. Today he didn’t get out of second gear.”

Earlier in the The Eagle Way (2100m), jockey Mark Du Plessis timed his run perfectly on Nightline ($6.50) to win the $160,000 race for trainers Tony and Maddy Sears, ahead of Mr Worthington ($8) and Tambeloa ($3.60).
