Dark
Dark is basically the de facto recommendation for anyone looking for another show outside of Stranger Things, but I think it’s especially worth watching now if you were disappointed by the ending of Stranger Things.
Dark was tightly plotted from start to finish and only runs three seasons, but it’s a near-perfect show in terms of storytelling.
It starts very similar to Stranger Things, beginning with a small-town mystery centered on the disappearance of children. Instead of focusing on spectacle, this show is more of a slow, atmospheric burn with some jaw-dropping twists that build over time while still keeping its scope contained. It has a heavy emphasis on family, secrets, and how trauma can impact an entire community.
