More information about The Batman 2‘s plot details have come to light, including what fans might be able to expect from Scarlett Johansson and Sebastian Stan’s mysterious roles.
What are the new The Batman 2 plot details?
According to a new episode of The Hot Mic podcast with Jeff Sneider and John Rocha, Sneider opened up about The Batman 2 and what fans could expect. Sneider said it was an “open secret” that Stan would be playing Harvey Dent, and that he was told that “Mrs. Dent would have a bigger role than Harvey Dent” in the movie at one point.
Sneider also noted that the next person he imagines will be cast is an older male, likely to play Dent’s father, or potentially the character for Dr. Arkham. As far as the plot goes, Sneider noted that he believes the film will focus largely on the Dents, and that he believes the story will be an amalgamation of different Batman stories.
The development of The Batman Part II has been a long one. The original film was released three years ago in 2022 and was a massive hit. Starring Pattinson as the titular hero, the film made over $770 million at the box office.

Pattinson will reprise his role as Batman in the movie, while the rest of the cast remains mostly unknown. Scarlett Johansson was recently reported to be involved in the film as well as Harvey Dent’s wife. Other cast members from the original film, including Colin Farrell’s Oz Cobb/The Penguin, Andy Serkis as Alfred, and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, are likely to return for the sequel.
Co-written by Reeves and Mattson Tomlin, The Batman 2 is expected to see Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell reprise their respective roles as Jim Gordon, Alfred Pennyworth, and the Penguin. Zoe Kravitz, meanwhile, is not expected to return as Catwoman/Selina Kyle. Production on the film begins this coming spring.
