Surprise wins included Teyana Taylor’s One Battle After Another victory of Best Female Supporting Actor over Amy Madigan for Weapons and Chloe Zhao’s Globe win for Hamnet, which beat Sinners for Best Motion Picture – Drama, the last award of the night. Director Zhao was stunned and speechless for a bit before Spielberg handed the mike over to her.
