“Hermione – what’s the spell to make something bigger?” This hilarious sketch from last night’s Saturday Night Live is a must see for movie geeks. The SNL wizards created this funny Harry Potter meets Heated Rivalry crossover called Heated Wizardy, turning Harry into a homo for a spin on the gay hockey series (on HBO Max). The sketch plays out like a new movie trailer for the Heated Wizardy movie – starring host Finn Wolfhard as Harry Potter and Ben Marshall as Ron Weasley. They compete in quidditch but also compete for each other’s hearts and hard-ons, with a bevy of hilarious gags & gay innuendo borrowed from the Heated Rivalry series. It’s quite exciting to see SNL go this bold with this sketch, which will certainly ruffle some feathers but who cares. There are also a few cameos in this trailer, including Jason Momoa as a beloved character. It’s filled with so many amusing jokes – one of the best SNL creations this season. Enjoy.

This hilarious sketch aired during the Saturday Night Live from the evening of January 17th, 2026 featuring Finn Wolfhard as the host – video posted to SNL’s YouTube. Heated Wizardy is an ingenious creation from the SNL writers & directors on the show for its 51st season. With Kenan Thompson as “Mad-Eye” Mooney, James Austin Johnson as Snape, Ashley Padilla as Professor McGonagall, Chloe Fineman as Hermione, and Jason Momoa as Hagrid. In this version: “they’re all 18+ in this. Hogwarts is like college now — just to make that clear.” There’s also a brand new HBO series adapted the Harry Potter books currently in the works – but we’re trying not to think about that because it’s so unnecessary. In the meantime, at least this 3 mins of comedy exists. How fun was that?
