Princess Eugenie has totally washed her hands of dad Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, as Examiner previously reported. But Princess Beatrice is unwilling to do the same, and it’s tearing the once-inseparable sisters apart.

“This was and still is a nightmare decision for Eugenie,” says a source. “She wrestled with it for an enormous amount of time and even now, there’s a huge sense of sadness and loss at being estranged from her own flesh and blood.”

The former Duke of York, 65, denies any wrongdoing but lost his royal titles and honors, as well as his lease to the Royal Lodge, over his connection to Jeffrey Epstein.

“At the end of the day, [Eugenie] felt obligated to cut him off and move on, if only out of solidarity to the many Epstein victims,” says the source, “and also to send a clear message to the likes of King Charles III and the Waleses that she in no way supports him anymore.”

Eugenie, 35, expected Beatrice, 37, to follow suit.

However, the elder sister “is desperately trying to stay on terms with their dad and hopes it doesn’t eventually bite her down the line,” reveals Examiner’s source, adding that it’s led to “many heated arguments” between the two siblings.

“For Eugenie, that’s cowardly and plain weak,” says the source. “She’s telling Bea that it’s time to wake up and smell the coffee. As painful as it is to disown their father, he’s brought it all upon himself and can’t be associated with at this point.”

Beatrice, on the other hand, “thinks Eugenie’s being heartless and power-hungry,” says the source. “But her sister’s conscience is perfectly clear. She’s very bitter about her dad and declaring him persona non grata.”
