Tyla made a guest appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday night, where the South African singer performed her new single, Chanel. The title alone made it unsurprising that she stepped out in a look from the Chanel Spring 2026 collection.
What may catch you off guard is how she styled it.

Then again, perhaps it should not. Everything we have learned about Tyla’s approach to fashion suggests this was always going to be her interpretation.
On the runway, the crochet two-piece leaned decorative. On Tyla, it shifts entirely, reading far more provocative.
The jacket is draped off the arms, with Chanel and Pandora necklaces layered over a bra. There is a clear Desperately Seeking Susan energy here, the kind of styling that thrives on attitude.

And you know what? I ain’t mad at any of this.
This is where Tyla excels. Her look sits firmly in the now, with a knowing nod to the past, a balance she has been refining into her signature.
I’m always saying “make it your own” and she did. Give me this energy over a head to toe runway look with no personal stamp any day.
