Dolphins: Englishman Morgan Knowles (lock) and former Bronco Selwyn Cobbo (centre) make their club debuts while Thomas Flegler has been named on the bench for his long-awaited return after a horror run with injury and Tom Gilbert also returns after a shoulder injury. Classy No.7 Isaiya Katoa is joined in the halves by former Panther Brad Schneider while the bench features Nathan Fien’s son Noah and powerhouse young forwards Elijah Rasmussen and Zac Garton.

Titans: The Josh Hannay era begins at the Titans with Moeaki Fotuaika named to captain a side that includes recruits Luke Sommerton and Lachlan Ilias in the spine along with young gun halfback Zane Harrison and rising fullback Jaylan De Groot, who played 17 NRL games in 2025. Centre Max Feagai and interchange forward Kurt Morrin also make their club debut while train and triallist Dean Ieremia gets a chance to shine after joining from the Storm. Young prop Jett Liu has joined the club on a development contract from the Dragons and is one to watch along with fellow big man Max Bradbury.

Raiders: The 2025 minor premiers launch their season at the club’s spiritual home at Seiffert Oval with former Panther Daine Laurie at halfback, powerhouse Savelio Tamale in the centres, Jed Stuart on the wing and Owen Pattie and Matty Nicholson starting in the pack. Seb Kris has recovered from a calf injury and has been named on the bench alongside promising young centre Kain Anderson, while another rising star Joe Roddy will start at lock after breaking into the NRL side in Round 27 last year.

Storm: Melbourne’s main men will be held back for another week but recruits Davvy Moale and Jack Hetherington will make their first appearance in Storm colours while Trent Loiero, Lazarus Vaalepu and Ativalu Lisati also step out. Marion Seve and Moses Leo are part of a backline that includes former touch footy star Hugo Peel at fullback and teenagers Jordan Hamlin and Eli Morris in the halves. Peel and Morris were part of the Storm’s 2025 Jersey Flegg premiership winning team along with Preston Conn, Amaziah Murgah, Mitchell Jennings, Liam Williams, Gabriel Satrick, Angus Hinchey, Zayvian Langkidle-Fale and Siulagi Tuimalatu-Brown who all get a chance to impress this weekend.

Cowboys: Two weeks out from the historic Vegas opener against the Knights, Todd Payten is giving superstars Scott Drinkwater, Tom Dearden, Jason Taumalolo and Reuben Cotter a chance to blow out the cobwebs while star recruit Reed Mahoney and gun winger Murray Taulagi are also on show. Star back-rower Heilum Luki looks to get more miles in the legs after returning last week from an ACL injury while hooker Soni Luke and prop Matt Lodge have their first run in Cowboys colours.

Panthers: The Panthers’ next generation of stars go on show in Mackay with hooker Billy Scott, fullback Jaxen Edgar and prop Toby Crosby well worth keeping an eye on. Former Warrior Kalani Going gets a chance to push his credentials in the back row as does 29-year-old playmaker Kurt Falls, who played three NRL games for the Panthers in 2022 and has racked up 65 NSW Cup games in the ensuing three seasons.

Warriors: Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, Kurt Capewell, Erin Clark and Ali Leiataua headline a powerful Warriors squad that also includes Tanah Boyd at halfback Demitric Vaimauga at prop and Wayde Egan at hooker. Former Leeds back-rower Morgan Gannon makes his Warriors debut along with ex-Rabbitoh Haizyn Mellars on the wing. Back-rower Paea Sikuvea and centre Caelys Putoko are two youngsters well worth watching as coach Andrew Webster looks to blood a host of rising stars.

Sea Eagles: Manly fans get a glimpse of the future with teenagers Joey Walsh and Onitoni Large combining in the halves and Australian Schoolboys giant Simione Laiafi starting at prop. Former Bulldog Blake Wilson makes his club debut on the wing while ex-Dragon Viliame Fifita gets a chance to stake his claim for an NRL berth. Brandon Wakeham and Corey Waddell have been named to co-captain the side.

Wests Tigers: Benji Marshall’s first squad of 2026 features Maroons Under 19s five-eighth Javon Andrews alongside former Bronco Jock Madden in the halves while Heath Mason and Tristan Hope round out the spine. Teenage powerhouse Haemasi Makasini lines up in the centres and fellow rising star Jared Haywood has been named in the interchange hooker role. Plenty of NRL experience in the shape of Tony Sukkar, Sione Fainu and train and triallist Patrick Herbert, who played 59 games between 2019-22 at the Warriors and Titans.

Roosters: Plenty of star power on show for the Chooks with former Sea Eagle Tommy Talau, gun playmaker Hugo Savala, props Egan Butcher and Taylor Losalu and back-rowers Salesi Foketi and Nat Butcher all named. Teenage sensation Toby Rodwell calls the shots at halfback while 19-year-old Rex Bassingthwaite will strut his stuff at fullback.

Knights: With their Las Vegas season opener just a fortnight away the Knights roll out big guns Dylan Brown, Bradman Best, Dom Young, Phoenix Crossland, and Dylan Lucas for their first game of the season. Fletcher Sharpe slides to fullback to allow Brown to team with Sandon Smith in the halves. Jermaine McEwen takes his place on the bench after missing the Dragons game with an ankle injury. Kalyn Ponga and Dane Gagai remain in cotton wool until Las Vegas.

Bulldogs: Cameron Ciraldo has named a powerhouse side for the final hit-out before Vegas with big guns Stephen Crichton, Matt Burton, Lachlan Galvin, Bronson Xerri, Viliame Kikau and Jacob Preston all on show. Winger Enari Tuala is good to go after suffering a leg injury late last season but Marcelo Montoya (ankle) remains sidelined. Plenty of power in the pack with Max King, Sitili Tupounia, Sam Hughes and Josh Curran all lining up to face the Knights. New recruit Sean O’Sullivan makes his first appearance after coming on board from the Dolphins.

Dragons: A final tune up before Vegas for the Red V with skipper Clint Gutherson, centres Val Holmes and Moses Suli, halves Kyle Flanagan and Daniel Atkinson, hooker Damien Cook and back-rower Jaydn Su’A all on deck after sitting out last week. Former Warrior Setu Tu impressed in his club debut last week and gets another crack on the wing while playmaker Kade Reed slides to the interchange after starring against the Knights. Forward Ryan Couchman looks to build on his impressive return from an ACL injury last week as competition hots up for spots in Shane Flanagan’s Round 1 squad. Prop Josh Kerr is away on All Stars duty while hooker Jacob Liddle is out with a hamstring injury.

Rabbitohs: Former Dragon and Bulldog Matt Dufty returns from four seasons with Warrington and gets a crack at the No.1 jersey as he looks to revive his NRL career at Redfern. Former Dragon Jonah Glover combines with the impressive Ashton Ward in the halves and former Storm utility Bronson Garlick will captain the side from lock. Plenty of experience on show with Tevita Tatola, Sean Keppie, Peter Mamouzelos and Jamie Humphreys lining up. Utility back Latrell Siegwalt and middle forward John Radel play their first game for the Bunnies after coming from the Queensland Cup with big wraps.

Sharks: With Nicho Hynes and Braydon Trindall on All Stars duty, Riley Pollard and Niwhai Puru calls the shots in the halves while exciting fullback Liam Ison returns from an ACL injury to show his wares. Classy young centre Michael Gabrael and back-rower Harrison Hassett also have a chance to impress while the vastly experienced Braden Uele, Siosifa Talakai, Tom Hazelton and Toby Rudolf will lead the way up front.

Eels: Jonah Pezet steps into the No.7 jersey for his first game in the blue and gold and teams with Joash Papalii in the halves. Coach Jason Ryles has named a strong forward line-up that includes J’maine Hopgood and Sam Tuivaiti at prop, Kelma Tuilagi and Kitione Kautoga in the back row and Matt Doorey at lock. Brothers Will and Richard Penisini both feature as does 18-year-old prop Ryda Talagi, the brother of Panther Blaize Talagi.Â
