A person injured in a grievous assault took themselves to hospital in Te Puke last night.
Police were called to Ben Keys St after a person received injuries following an assault at around 9.40pm on Friday.
“The injured person self transported to hospital for medical attention,” a police spokesperson said.
Armed police were in attendance while police made initial inquiries into the assault, with work now underway to determine the circumstances of the incident.
