Mazda New Zealand has confirmed the all-electric 6e sedan will arrive locally in the second half of 2026.
Where Mazda offers a range of 6e models in other countries, the New Zealand branch is keeping things simple with just one variant on offer.
This is the 6e Takami, which is powered by a 78kWh battery that can provide up to 560km of driving range (WLTP).
Mazda claims it can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in just 24 minutes when hooked up to a 195kW charger.
A single electric motor is mounted on the rear axle, which produces 190kW and 290Nm of torque.
Standard exterior equipment includes 19-inch alloy wheels, which reportedly feature a range-boosting aerodynamic design.
There’s also an electronically extendable rear spoiler that is said to enhance stability at speed.
On the inside, the 6e Takami gets a 14.6-inch infotainment display and a 10.2-inch digital cluster. There’s also a head-up display.
Genuine tan Nappa leather covers the inside of the 6e, and a panoramic roof adds to the luxury feeling.
Mazda New Zealand plans to announce pricing for this 6e Takami model in the coming months, with the car hitting showrooms in Spring of 2026.
The local dealer network is also taking expressions of interest for this new model.
