SHANE van Gisbergen is set to line up from the 16th starting position for tomorrow’s NASCAR Cup Series Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

With a strong position in the point standings and recent results, the Kiwi was the 10th-to-last car to hit the track for the single-lap runs.

Earlier in the lone practice session for the weekend, SVG logged the 25th fastest time.

This weekend, the three-time Supercars champion is sporting a special livery designed by noted street artist Mr Brainwash.

The look denotes confirmation of a fresh multi-year sponsorship arrangement between Trackhouse Racing and SuperFile, who first backed the #97 Chevrolet in this year’s Daytona 500.

Pole position for the race went to Christopher Bell.

Van Gisbergen will be looking to continue the strong turn of form that sees him sit fifth in the point standings after four events.

Like Phoenix last week, an improvement in form at Las Vegas will be important for him to maintain his position in the rankings.

After finishing two laps off the pace in 29th in his first outing in 2024 for Kaulig Racing, van Gisbergen failed to finish both of the 2025 races after being involved in incidents, although that second outing did see him run strongly inside the top-ten.

The field is set to roll off pit road tomorrow at 7:00am AEDT.
