After 30 years of waiting patiently, fans can today rejoice in the news of a first-ever Spice Girls Australian tour.

Well.. a first-ever Spice Girl’s Australian tour.

Sporty Spice Melanie C has today announced the Australian venues for her upcoming world tour, first teased on social media over the weekend. The Aussie leg of the jaunt will see her play mid-sized theatres in Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney in November.

Incredibly, nine studio albums in to her solo career, this marks the first headlining Australian tour for Melanie C – and indeed, the first Australian tour for any Spice Girl, solo or as a group.

Melanie C has previously performed smaller one-off gigs in our country, and played the club circuit as a DJ, but these dates mark her first time mounting an Australian tour performing her own music.

And fans hungry for a hint of Spice among the solo hits should be in luck: Sporty usually plays a smattering of her group’s most iconic 90s songs among her own solo music in concert.

Expect to also hear songs from her dancefloor-focused upcoming ninth album Sweat, which will be released on May 30. The third single from that album, Undefeated Champion, was released last week.

Melanie C’s world tour schedule for the second half of 2026 – starting on September 8 in Montreal, Canada, and finishing two months later in Sydney – makes any hopes of a Spice Girls reunion in 2026 look even less likely. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the group’s debut single, Wannabe, and some recent moves on social media – even longtime holdout Victoria Beckham has been singing their old songs – raised fans’ hopes of a reunion tour.

Speaking to news.com.au late last year, Melanie explained that while the group was “always discussing” a possible reunion, getting everyone across the line was another matter entirely.

“The actual truth of the matter is we’re always discussing: Discussing opportunities, what our wishes are… Because the thing with the Spice Girls is, it’s hard to get everybody in the same frame of mind at the same time,” she said.

“It’s our 30th anniversary so it would be rude not to. I can’t, sadly, give you anything but I, like you, hope that there will be some news at some point.”
