The remaining record-holder is one TTB isn’t likely to pass anytime soon, another group featuring Derek Trucks on guitar, the Allman Brothers Band, with over 230 sold-out Beacon shows to its name.
This year’s Beacon run has seen plenty of other highlights so far. The band made national headlines last week as Derek Trucks played Jerry Garcia‘s “Tiger” guitar onstage at the Beacon one day after the instrument sold for $11.5 million at auction. The group also appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Thursday night with a pre-recorded performance from the Beacon, and welcomed special guests Nels Cline (Wilco) and Future Soul producer Mike Elizondo on Wednesday. Throughout the run, TTB has offered the live debuts of new Future Soul songs, as well as classic covers from The Rolling Stones, Frank Zappa, Sly & The Family Stone, and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.
