The California Nurses Association said Friday that registered nurses at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto and two other area hospitals ratified a new three-year employment contract.

The contract affects about 3,000 nurses at Doctors of Modesto, Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock, Doctors Hospital of Manteca, San Ramon Regional Medical Center, Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs and Hi-Desert Medical Center in Twentynine Palms.

The vote was 93% in favor of ratifying the agreement, the union said.

The nurses association said the contract includes pay increases ranging from 11% to 18% over three years. To improve safety, each hospital will have a dedicated rapid-response nurse and guaranteed orientation for newly hired nurses.

The contract is for the period from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2028.

The employees represented by the California Nurses Association held a 24-hour strike in October when the negotiating parties were deadlocked.
