Meta has announced two new styles for its Ray-Ban Meta smartglasses, called Blayzer and Scriber. The new models join some interesting software updates, and a selection of new colors and lens combinations for existing Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley smartglasses.

Lets start with the new styles. The Blayzer and Scriber join the current Wayfarer, Headliner, and Skyler designs, but are specifically designed for people who wear glasses all the time and require prescription lenses.
Blayzer comes in a choice of four colors, Matte Black and Shiny Transparent Black, plus Matte Transparent Ice Grey and Shiny Transparent Dark Olive. Scriber comes in a single color, Shiny Transparent Umber. Both are based on the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 platform.

Both pairs have a slimmer more comfortable fit than other models, hinges which have additional rotation, and crucially, adjustable temple tips and flexible nose pads. Anyone who has worn existing models for long periods of time will know the flat, hard nose pads can get uncomfortable.

There’s a small selection of new features coming to both the Ray-Ban and Oakley smartglasses, and the Meta Ray-Ban Display models too.
For the Meta Ray-Ban Display, expect to see Spotify shortcuts, Instagram Reels browsing, widgets designed to be glanceable, pedestrian navigation, and display recording. Some of these features may have already arrived for some wearers.

Meta AI updates for the Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley smartglasses include hands-free WhatsApp summaries, nutrition tracking, and in the summer, the addition of 20 new languages for live translation. These will include Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, and Arabic.

For the HSTN models, which have a less sporty look than the Vanguard models, the Dark Golf Prizm lenses will be available for the first time, along with a new Light Curry frame finish with brown Transition lenses.
