Drew Barrymore is getting real about body insecurities.

During the Monday, April 6, episode of The Drew Barrymore Show during a segment called “Scared to Wear,” the star, 51, got emotional when talking about her body insecurities after welcoming her two children, Olive, 13, and Frankie, 11.

During the segment, a viewer had a makeover after struggling with self-image when they lost a lot of weight, and Barrymore said she empathized with where the viewer, Dawn, was coming from.

“The other day I was walking down the street, and I’ve had two C-Sections, and I’m so wrecked down there,” Barrymore told Dawn while tearing up.

“I can’t wear a lot of different types of pants,” she continued. “But the other day I was walking around, and I had this shorter shirt on, and I couldn’t keep my jacket closed. And I was walking around like ‘I don’t want anyone to see this,’ “ she went on.

“And I so get when you have kids, and you have a busy life, and your body changes and you get older, and things just aren’t the same. I totally get it,” Barrymore concluded, adding that viewer Dawn looked “so stunning” in her new look.

Barrymore is known for keeping it real on her chat show. Just last month, she opened up about menopause symptoms, joking that she felt like a “dead fish.”

“I can’t even start today without being honest because I can’t fake anything,” she began the show. “I am so bloated that I feel like some carp that got brought up to the beach and I’m just that dead fish.”

Co-host Ross Matthews asked if Barrymore did anything over the weekend that “puffed” her up. The Charlie’s Angels alum explained that she just got her period for the first time in nearly a year while navigating perimenopause.

“I was about to hit my one-year mark for my period and get right into menopause where I belong … I got it,” Barrymore said. “I got it. I’m at 11 months. So I go back down to zero.”

She continued, “And ugh, I feel unattractive and I’m so hormonal and nothing makes sense and I’m irritable and I’m bloated and I am emotionally unstable. How are you?”

Barrymore went on to tell Matthews, 46, that she felt “a lot better” having shared how she was feeling, because now “at least you know where I’m at.”

The topic also came up during a 2023 episode of the show when she was joined by Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler and had her first hot flash.

“I am so hot, I think I’m having my first perimenopause hot flashes,” she said while quickly taking off her blazer and fanning herself. “For the first time, I think I’m having my first hot flash. Whoa!”

“Oh, I feel so honored,” Aniston, 57, quipped.

“I’m so glad I have this moment documented,” Barrymore added with a laugh.

Barrymore shares her daughters with ex-husband, art consultant Will Kopelman. The couple married in 2012 and divorced in 2016, but have continued to co-parent their children together.
