Since her engagement in August, fans have been waiting to find out how Taylor Swift throws a wedding. Would she summon her nearest and dearest to Cleveland or whisk her Haimsmaids off to a destination affair in some European countryside? For months now, it’s been widely believed that she and Travis Kelce would be tying the knot on June 13 — the only 13th that falls on a Saturday this summer — in Rhode Island, where Swift has owned a house for years. But now, “Page Six” has offered up a different theory: Apparently, Swift’s save-the-date cards have gone out, and those indicate Tayvis is getting married on July 3 in New York City.
While a New York City wedding for a woman who’s constantly swarmed by hordes of fans may sound like a logistical nightmare to you and me, it actually might make sense for Swift and Kelce. In November, “Page Six” claimed the couple were rethinking their Rhode Island location after realizing the guest list was longer than they’d expected, possibly eyeing somewhere in Tennessee or a private island. Apparently, they found the spot they were looking for in New York and planned the big day for the weekend of July 4, Swift’s favorite holiday for throwing a big star-studded party.
If you think about it, New York is actually the perfect place for Swift to get married. She’s written at least a dozen songs about this city, and it’s by far her favorite place to take her girls out for dinner at an upscale bistro. Will Swift and Kelce say their vows at the Plaza? Do you think they’ll do late-night pizza or cap off the weekend with a bagel brunch? How about a subway photo shoot, à la Zohran and Rama? The possibilities are really endless, and if they would like a list of my favorite dive bars for the after-party, I’d be happy to oblige. Welcome to New York, Tayvis!
