Two states of local emergency have been declared in the Manawatū-Whanganui region, for the Whanganui District and Ōhura ward after rain triggered flooding, slips, evacuations and state highway closures overnight.Flooding was expected around 1pm in low‑lying parts of Whanganui, including Anzac Parade, Taupō Quay and Pūtiki.A tornado damaged several homes and cut power to 75 properties in Tauranga’s Welcome Bay.Multiple weather warnings and watches have been issued by MetService.Do you have photos or videos of the weather?
