Nairobi’s radio landscape is preparing for a fresh voice. Jeremy Wahome is the newest addition to the Radio Africa Group family.
He will make his highly anticipated on-air debut this Monday, 20th April.
Jeremy will join Cyd Wambui on the morning show. The station is looking to inject new energy into its breakfast programming. This move comes as Kiss FM continues to cement its place as a leader in urban entertainment.
A Big Stage for New Talent
Radio Africa Group CEO Martin Khafafa officially welcomed Jeremy to the team last week. During the welcome, Khafafa noted that Kiss 100 has just turned 25 years old.
It remains the largest urban English-speaking station in the country. It specifically targets the 18 to 24-year-old demographic.

Khafafa highlighted the station’s rich heritage. It has hosted legends like Caroline Mutoko. Current stars include Mwalimu Rachel and DJ Xclusive.
“Welcome to Radio Africa. You’re coming onto a big stage. I can assure you, you’re coming to a very big stage. We also believe you have what it takes to take that young people’s station to the next level,” Khafafa told the new presenter.
The CEO challenged Jeremy to do more than just entertain. He wants the new host to create narratives that build the country. He encouraged Jeremy to foster a spirit of positivity and patriotism among the youth.
“Create positive impact, give us over and above the fun and entertainment, create narratives that will build the country, and build the spirit of positivity, patriotism, and excitement of just being Kenyan and Nairobian,” Khafafa added.
From Film to the Airwaves
Jeremy’s journey to the studio began with a solid education. He attended the University of Leeds. Later, he moved to South Africa to study at AFDA. There, he specialised in film and TV.

Before joining Kiss FM, Jeremy spent five years at Sound City Radio. His passion for the medium was sparked after he finished university. He returned to Nairobi and watched established presenters like Shaffie Weru, Neville, and Andy Young.
“I actually studied film until I came back to Nairobi and started seeing guys on radio doing the thing… I just said, you know what, I’m not going to waste this voice, I’m going to be right there with them,” Jeremy recalled during interview with Mpasho.
Joining the “Great United”
For Jeremy, joining Kiss 100 is a childhood dream come true. He grew up listening to Shaffie Weru on the very same show he is about to join. He used a football metaphor to describe the career milestone.
“I feel like I’ve been playing for Arsenal all my life and I finally joined the great Manchester United,” he said.

What Listeners Can Expect
When asked about the vibe he brings, Jeremy was confident. He promised something “different” for the audience. He did not want to give too much away before the first show.
“Tune in on Monday, come back and tell me how the energy is, I’m telling you it’s going to be different,” he challenged his new listeners.
Beyond his voice, Jeremy is a man of many interests. He is a passionate Manchester United supporter. He also enjoys music and various sports. Interestingly, he is also a golf enthusiast.
