A Bay of Plenty Lotto player is celebrating a welcome windfall after winning $29,497 in Saturday night’s Lotto second division draw.
The local win was one of eight second division prizes nationwide, with each ticket-holder picking up just under $30,000 in the live draw.
The Bay of Plenty ticket was sold online through MyLotto, meaning a local player could be checking their account today to discover the unexpected boost.
One of the eight second division winners also struck Powerball second division, taking their total prize to $44,203. That winning ticket was sold to a Hastings player via MyLotto.
Other winning second division tickets were sold in Auckland, Horowhenua, Wellington, Canterbury, Motueka and Otautau.
Lotto NZ is urging anyone who bought a ticket for the draw to check as soon as possible, either via the MyLotto website or app, or in-store, to see if they are one of the lucky winners.
