Cher, 79, has formed a close connection with her 15-year-old granddaughter, even giving her a tour of her Malibu closet and chatting with her about boys—after confirming long-circulating family rumors that her son Elijah Allman had a secret child.

The music icon has reportedly spent time bonding with the teenager, showing her pieces from her wardrobe at her Malibu home and opening up about typical teenage topics.

According to reports from Daily Mail, sources say Cher was stunned when she first learned she had a granddaughter, finally confirming years of speculation within the family that Elijah had fathered a child in secret.

The teen’s mother, Kayti Edwards, is said to have broken the news to Cher during an emotional phone call last year.

Kayti—who is also the granddaughter of Julie Andrews—has claimed she had a brief relationship with Elijah in 2010 that resulted in the birth of their daughter, Ever.

She alleges Elijah knew about Ever and would visit occasionally over the years but “did not want to be a parent.”

According to Kayti, the situation became known to others in 2021 after Elijah experienced a drug overdose and later admitted to his now-estranged wife, Marie Angela King, that he had a child.

The information reportedly spread through the family, and Cher eventually reached out to Kayti last year to confirm the story—only to be left “speechless” upon discovering she was a grandmother.

Kayti, who runs a horse rescue center, said Cher later invited her and Ever to stay at her Malibu home in September.

“She was lovely and kind and we had dinner,” she told The Sun. “Cher asked Ever if she wanted to see her closet and showed her a pair of jeans she had worn in concert.”

Looking back on the visit, Kayti added: “They played in the pool and she spoke to Ever about school and asked her about boys. She was like a kid herself.”

The news comes just a day after Cher filed a request in court to appoint a temporary conservator for Elijah following ongoing financial, legal, and substance-related struggles.

In documents obtained Friday, the singer—who shares Elijah with her late ex-husband, Gregg Allman—stated that her son is currently in a psychiatric hospital and that his life has “significantly deteriorated” since she first sought conservatorship in 2023. Cher described a concerning incident in which Elijah was found unconscious behind the wheel of his car, creating a traffic jam before being hospitalized, where Narcan was used to revive him.

She also raised concerns about his financial decisions, claiming he “has no concept of money, is unable to manage his financial resources and is unable to withstand fraud or undue influence.”

According to Cher, Elijah owes $18,000 to a drug dealer and had to borrow money from a friend to stay safe. In addition to substance-related issues, he is reportedly dealing with a growing $200,000 tax debt. Court filings also allege he has racked up major expenses after damaging multiple Airbnb properties, including cigarette burns and broken windows.

Cher claims he owes $50,000 from his most recent stay after allegedly leaving the property in disrepair.

She further stated that he has been banned from 18 hotels due to behavior that included disturbing guests, yelling obscenities, and acting erratically.
