A groundbreaking NRL Telstra Premiership finals series continues to reach new heights, with attendance and viewership records tumbling across the second weekend of the post-season. 

A stunning opening week of the finals laid the foundation for two epic semi-finals, with fans packing into GIO Stadium and Accor Stadium to watch the Sharks and Panthers keep their seasons alive. 

The two games combined to make it the most watched and attended week two of the finals in NRL history.

NRL Round Up – Finals Week 2, 2025

Sunday afternoon finals continue to be a hit with supporters, with more than two million people tuning in across Australia and New Zealand for Penrith’s win over the Bulldogs.

The match was both the highest rated and best attended week-two finals game in the NRL era.

Finals Week Two Viewership

Combined average of 3.8m viewers across Australia and New Zealand (up +34.2% YoY), making it the most-watched FW2 in NRL history.
The Bulldogs vs Panthers was the most-watched FW2 game of all time, attracting 2.0m across Nine, Fox & Sky.
The Raiders vs Sharks was the third most-watched FW2 game of all time, attracting 1.8m across Nine, Fox & Sky.
Across the two fixtures, viewership in Brisbane was up +24% YoY whilst Melbourne up +95% YoY. 
The Bulldogs vs Panthers match was the equal second most-watched FW2 fixture in Melbourne for a game not featuring the Storm. It ranks as the equal fourth most-viewed FW2 game in the city’s history.
Both fixtures ranked as the two most-watched FW2 fixtures in New Zealand for a game not featuring the Warriors.
Both fixtures ranked as the two most streamed FW2 games (across 9Now and Kayo) of all time. The Bulldogs vs Panthers game also doubles as the most streamed finals game (FW1-FW3) of all time.

82k (+35.5% YoY), the highest-attended FW2 in the NRL era, surpassing 2017 by 1.6%.
