Haylie Duff, 41, and her fiancé Matt Rosenberg have split after a 12-year engagement.

Haylie’s representative told People that the couple broke up quietly at the start of 2026 and “ended their relationship around the first of the year.”

“She asks for privacy at this time in protection of her young daughters,” the rep continued.

Haylie, who is the older sister of Hilary Duff, and Matt got engaged on April Fools Day in 2014. Together they are parents to daughters Ryan Ava Erhard, 10, and Lulu Gray, seven.

In 2018, Haylie explained to People why she and Rosenberg hadn’t tied the knot yet.

“We talk about it and think, ‘Maybe now we’re ready to do it’ and then life happens and toddler happens,” she said.

“We feel married already and it hasn’t become something that both of us are gung-ho about,” she said.

“Maybe after the craziness of a new baby dies down we’ll be ready to talk about it again.”

The news comes two months after sister Hilary Duff, 38, who Haylie has reportedly been estranged from for years, confirmed she wrote about her family in her album Luck… or Something.

Speaking of her strained relationship with Haylie and their father Robert (Bob) Duff, Hilary told Glamour: “That’s my family. Those are the people that affect you the most, take up the most space naturally as a human who’s born into something.”

“Just because you’re born into a family doesn’t mean that it always stays together,” Hilary added.

“You can only control your side and your street … I’ve had a very complicated life, and my parents had a very complicated thing.”

The lyrics of Hilary’s song We Don’t Talk appear to be about her rumoured estrangement from sister Haylie.

“People ask me how you’re doing, I wanna say amazing but the truth is I don’t know, what I always end up saying is how we don’t talk,” she sings.

“Not even sure what it was about. If I did something different would you feel something different? Would you at least let me hear you out?”

“‘Cause we come from the same home, from the same love, a different combination but the same love.”

Haylie and Hilary were child star icons of the early 2000s. Together the sister starred in the film Material Girls and recorded the soundtrack cover of Our Lips Are Sealed.

Hilary achieved fame in Disney’s Lizzie McGuire as the title character. She also starred in hit films including Agent Cody Banks, Cheaper by the Dozen and A Cinderella Story.

While Haylie didn’t reach the same level of global stardom, she had successful early career playing Sandy Jameson on 7th Heaven and acting in Napoleon Dynamite.

Both sisters took a step back from Hollywood, with Haylie focusing on her raising her young daughters in Texas.

Though in recent years she has continued to act and direct lifetime movies.
