Truly, Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire on AMC and AMC+ remains one of the most ambitious horror stories to hit the airwaves in years. For it remains the first adaptation of this story that embraces Louis and Lestat’s dysfunctional and dark relationship. Plus, it went one step further and leaned heavily into commentary on domestic violence and the impact that kind of trauma can have upon a person. Something that just isn’t touched upon in storytelling enough, and its ambitious nature will continue in its third season.
After all, The Vampire Lestat will be about Lestat and his time as a rock star, a story that could take us into unique places regarding how an abuser and narcissist would handle being exposed in a negative light. What creates such a monster, and how we let them persist in our world, as evidenced by the new trailer that AMC and AMC+ released for the show. Because it truly showcases the fascinating story to come revolving around the villain of this journey, and well, here is that trailer for you to enjoy. ‘AMC Global Media released today the jaw-dropping official trailer for The Vampire Lestat, featuring Lestat’s (Sam Reid) rendition of Billy Idol’s iconic “Dancing With Myself.” The wild and captivating next chapter in Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe follows Lestat as the world’s first immortal rock star on an electric multi-city tour, while he’s haunted by “muses” from his rebellious past. The Vampire Lestat premieres Sunday, June 7 at 9pm ET/PT on AMC and AMC+.
In addition to Reid, The Vampire Lestat stars Jacob Anderson, Assad Zaman, Eric Bogosian, Delainey Hayles and Jennifer Ehle and is executive produced by award-winning producer Mark Johnson, creator, writer and showrunner Rolin Jones, Hannah Moscovitch, along with Christopher Rice and the late Anne Rice.
AMC Global Media and Lakeshore Records recently released “Long Face” and “All Fall Down,” Lestat’s first two official rock singles, on the Vampire Lestat artist profile pages at major digital music services, including Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music. The songs’ original music and lyrics, by series’ composer Daniel Hart and performed by Reid, will be featured in the series, and additional infectious new tracks will roll out in the coming months.
