Thunderstorms and up to 35 mm of rain possible in southern Ontario

There’s a risk of thunderstorms and rain in southern Ontario this week.

Environment Canada has issued an outlook which said that there’s a risk of storms on Wednesday.

It said that thunderstorms are possible throughout southern Ontario, including Ottawa, Kingston, the Greater Toronto Area, Barrie, Hamilton, Niagara Region, London, and Windsor.

Up to 35 mm of rain is possible locally, with a local peak hourly rainfall amount of 20 mm.

Forecasters said there could be isolated lightning strikes.

Meanwhile, cold overnight temperatures are expected Monday night into Tuesday.

A frost advisory is in effect for a large part of southern Ontario.
