Change is in the air at Beasley Media Group’s classic rock WCSX Detroit (94.7) where “Big Jim” O’Brien exits his morning drive timeslot after more than a decade. He had been with the station since 2002 and has hosted the “Big Jim’s House” morning show since 2014.
“After an incredible run at WCSX, my time with the station has come to an end,” O’Brien writes on social media, adding, “I’m grateful to the listeners, teammates, clients, veterans, and Detroit community who allowed me to be part of their mornings for so many years.” He also tells fans that he has no plans to retire.
Beasley confirmed it has split with O’Brien, but the company has not announced a successor for Motor City wake-up duties at the station.
Nielsen says WCSX ranked No. 10 the March ratings with a 4.0 share (6+).
