In 2024, Dune: Prophecy explored the distant past of the Dune universe and the shadowy origins of the manipulative Bene Gesserit sisterhood. This year, it’s coming back for a second season, and it’s going to be even more galaxy-shaking than the first. Collider’s Therese Lacson discussed the series with star Josh Heuston during an interview for his new Prime Video series Off Campus.

Heuston stars in Dune: Prophecy as Constantine Corrino, the illegitimate son of galactic emperor Javicco Corrino (Mark Strong). He’s prone to indulging in his own vices, but is fiercely protective of his half-sister, Princess Ynez (Sarah-Sofie Boussnina), which turns out to be the reason the Bene Gesserit arranged for his birth. He survived the cataclysmic events of the Season 1 finale and will be back in action for Season 2. Heuston promises that the series will be worth the wait, telling Collider:

“It’s just bigger and better, I guess. Everything’s on a bigger scale. We filmed in three different countries, which is fun. It’s a lot of similar characters, but I think everything is just on a much grander scale, from the fights to the storylines to everyone trying to undercut each other. It’s a wild ride. It’s fun.”

What Is ‘Dune: Prophecy’ About?

Taking place 10,000 years before the events of Frank Herbert‘s Dune novels, the series centers around the origins of the Bene Gesserit, the all-powerful matriarchal secret society to which Lady Jessica, Paul Atreides’ mother, belongs. Valya Harkonnen (Emily Watson) is the head of the sisterhood, and her sister, Tula (Olivia Williams), is her closest ally; both are members of the Harkonnen family, who will come to be known for their bottomless reserves of depravity and evil. As the series unfolds, we learn of the terrible price the sisters paid to control the sisterhood, and the deep, dark secret it keeps to maintain its power over the galaxy.

What Is ‘Off Campus’ About?

Based on the series of romance novels by Canadian writer Elle Kennedy, Off Campus centers around Garrett Graham (Belmont Cameli), the university’s star hockey player, and Hannah Wells (Ella Bright), a clever philosophy student. When he finds out she has a crush on clueless hunk Justin Kohl (Heuston), he offers to pretend to date her to make Justin jealous, in exchange for her help in passing the course. Before long, however, their fake relationship starts to feel awfully real. The series premiered on Prime Video on May 13 and has already been renewed for a second season.
