Entrepreneur and digital creator Mehul Agrawal has triggered online discussion after sharing a candid account of leaving a stable job to pursue entrepreneurship, only to find the transition far more mentally demanding than expected.

In a video posted on social media, Agrawal said the idea of “freedom” after quitting his job initially felt exciting, but the emotion quickly faded within minutes as uncertainty and pressure set in. He described the shift as emotionally intense, adding that what he thought would be independence soon turned into constant responsibility.

Agrawal said that on his first day after leaving his job, he spent hours planning the next phase of his venture. On the second day, he reworked the entire plan again. By the third day, he said he was dealing with anxiety and questioning his decision to leave a structured corporate environment.

Despite the initial stress, he said he does not regret the move. According to him, he left a draining job to build something of his own and continues to find purpose in working on his startup, Ilara.

He also said he now documents his entrepreneurial journey publicly on Instagram, including both progress and setbacks, and encourages others to view the realities behind building a business rather than just the outcome.

The video has resonated widely with young professionals and aspiring founders, many of whom shared similar experiences of post-resignation uncertainty and pressure.

Several users praised the honesty of the post, saying it reflects the less visible emotional side of entrepreneurship that is often overlooked in success-driven narratives.
