Fewer than half the homes listed for auction sold in Sydney over the weekend as federal budget tax changes injected further uncertainty into a softening housing market.
On initial numbers, Sydney’s preliminary clearance rate dropped to 49 per cent, down 6 percentage points from the previous week, even as the volume of scheduled auctions also fell, according to Cotality.
