Recently revived rocker “93.5 WRNR” is adding another recognizable Baltimore radio voice to its lineup as Mike Ondayko returns to the station beginning this weekend, to host Sundays from 10am-3pm.

The move continues the station’s rebuilding effort after returning to the FM dial last July on 93.5 FM via WYRE-AM/W228ER (810/93.5) and later expanded coverage through an LMA arrangement on the FM translator W228DI (93.5) serving Silver Spring, MD via WTOP-HD4.

Ondayko is well known to Baltimore listeners from multiple stops across the market, including as “Mark” on the former “Kirk, Mark and Lopez” morning show at “98 Rock” WIYY. His career also included time during the former WHFS-to-FM-talk transition at 105.7, a stint at classic rock “100.7 The Bay” WZBA, and several roles at the original WRNR dating back to 2015.

Though he officially retired in May 2025, Ondayko said the station’s local ownership and music presentation drew him back to the airwaves.

“I officially retired in May of 2025… but when WRNR called, I put down my Manhattan, grabbed my headphones, and here I am,” Ondayko said. “Radio is still in my blood, but I wouldn’t come out of retirement for just any station. I’ve always loved the music on WRNR, and the fact that it’s my hometown station — run by locals who truly understand our audience — made the decision a no-brainer.”

Ondayko noted the return marks his sixth on-air role with WRNR, having previously worked weekends, weeknights, mornings, middays and afternoons, in addition to behind-the-scenes duties.

The station also announced that Rich Fisher will expand his responsibilities to include both Saturday and Sunday shifts from 3-6 p.m.

WRNR is locally owned by Cortona Media LLC, headed by managing partners Kirk Litton and Jay Stevens. Litton said the station continues focusing on rebuilding WRNR as a locally driven brand. “It’s a great feeling to be able to restore WRNR brick by brick as a truly local community focused station, and welcoming back Mike is another big step in rounding out the best on-air team,” Litton said.

Stevens added that Ondayko’s local knowledge makes him a natural fit for the station’s Sunday programming strategy. “Mike knows Annapolis and is the perfect hometown voice on Sundays to give updates for boaters, bridge traffic and everything about the bay… local, local, local,” Stevens added.
