THERE was a good turnout this morning for the free Financial Literacy Event at The Ashe Hotel.

The aim of the event was to bring together local and national supports to help people build confidence around everyday financial decisions.

There was a focus on keeping your money safe from fraud, tips on budgeting, preparing for financial emergencies and information on the supports that are available locally.

After a chance for attendees to visit all the stands and enjoy a morning cuppa and pastries, there was a Q+A panel discussion featuring representatives from  MABS, Kerry ETB , AIB and An Garda Síochána offering practical information and guidance, as well as signposting to supports available locally.

The event was supported and endorsed by all other financial institutions in Tralee including BOI, Cara Credit Union, PTSB and An Post.
