The college hosted a screening of the Scottish film ‘The Low Road’ at its Kilmarnock campus on Thursday, May 14, as part of its Mental Health Awareness Week programme.
The event, open only to partner organisations, brought together more than 60 education, health and community organisations to explore issues including trauma, grief, suicide prevention and recovery.

Set against the backdrop of the West Highland Way, The Low Road follows a young woman coping with the loss of a friend to suicide while confronting her own trauma.
The screening was followed by a discussion exploring how the college is embedding trauma-informed and inclusive approaches across its learning environment.
The event took place during Mental Health Awareness Week 2026, which focused on taking meaningful action to improve wellbeing.
