BEMIDJI — The
invites the public to an opening reception for its exhibit, “The Peace of Wild Things,” with artist Joan Cox from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 5, at the center, 505 Bemidji Ave. N.
Cox will deliver a talk about her work at 5:30 p.m., with the exhibit remaining on display through Aug. 21.
“‘The Peace of Wild Things’ features lush abstract landscape paintings that ‘spring from the natural world, remembered and imagined, each eliciting a sense of place and the essence of an experience,’” a release said. “Joan’s work reminds us that the hum of the natural world is a potent remedy that can calm, heal and nourish us, an important reminder of our place in this life.”
There is no charge to attend the reception.
