Connoisseur Media is expanding its Amarillo country lineup with the addition of nationally recognized radio personality Blair Garner, who will join “Country 97.9” KGNC as the new afternoon drive host, airing weekdays from 3-7pm.

Garner is one of country radio’s most familiar and decorated voices, bringing a résumé that spans decades of syndication and industry recognition. He is a member of both the Country Radio Hall of Fame and the National Radio Hall of Fame, and has earned nine Billboard Broadcast Awards along with three ACM Awards. Throughout his career, he has also collected multiple Marconi and CMA Award nominations, underscoring his long-standing influence in country broadcasting.

Over nearly 30 years of nationally syndicated programming, Garner has conducted more than 4,000 interviews with country music’s biggest stars, helping define the modern era of personality-driven country radio.

His move to Amarillo also marks something of a homecoming. Garner grew up in Canyon, TX, where he launched his broadcasting career at just 17 years old, making his return to the region a notable full-circle moment in his professional journey.

“We’re thrilled to have a personality of Blair’s caliber joining our staff at KGNC,” said Jeff Scott, Operations Manager for the station. “He grew up in the area, he’s a true pro, and a perfect fit for us.”

Garner’s on-air career includes 20 years hosting Premiere Networks’ “After MidNite,” followed by runs as host of Westwood One’s “America’s Morning Show” and “The Blair Garner Show.”
