Savannah Guthrie has returned to the airwaves. But her heart and mind are in anguish over the disappearance of her mum, Nancy Guthrie.
In an interview with TODAY – her home network – she shares the heartbreaking toll of her mother being missing and yet to be found.
The anchor reveals that she cries every day when she is going to work and coming home from duty.
“It’s really hard to come back. I’ve been trying so hard to hold it together, and I promise I will.”
Savannah offers a glimpse into her daily routine, sharing that a line from the Bible gives her solace.
“There’s a part of it which says, ‘You’ll walk and not grow faint,’” she shares.
“And this sermon that I read talked about that. How there’s a time in life when just walking and not growing faint is about as good as it can get.”
“And that’s what I feel like I’m doing,” the TV celebrity notes.
She continues, “I’m trying to walk and not grow faint, and it’s a gift from God that I’m able to do so.”
However, despite this, Savannah admits, “But it’s always with me.” I cry every morning on the way to work, and I cry every morning on the way home.”
Nancy has been missing since Feb. 1 from her home near Tucson, Arizona.
The investigation into her disappearance has been ongoing. Yet, no suspect has been arrested so far.
