Prime Video has issued a stern warning to Off Campus fans, threatening action against inappropriate behaviour.
The new YA romance drama garnered a substantial following upon its 13 May premiere, and understandably so. Based on Elle Kennedy’s viral book series of the same name, the programme chronicles multiple romantic storylines unfolding at the fictional Briar University.
As expected from a college-based drama, the cast comprises young performers attempting to establish themselves in the industry. However, given their relative anonymity, fans have been delving into the cast members’ private lives and posting their findings across social media.
It appears viewers have overstepped boundaries, prompting Prime Video to release an official statement condemning the ‘harassment’ of actors and their loved ones.

“The Off Campus community is built on a shared love of storytelling – and on respect for real people who bring it to life,” the streaming service posted on Instagram, reports the Mirror.
“We ask that everyone in this space extend that respect to our cast and the people in their lives.”
The statement added: “Accounts that engage in targeted harassment will be removed from following our accounts.”
This follows Mika Abdalla, who portrays Allie, announcing her separation from ex-fiancé Jake Short. The news triggered intense speculation on social media as fans attempted to discover the reasons behind the split.

Viewers rapidly unearthed an archive recording from Jake’s Sit and Chat podcast, during which he describes Mika as “some b**ch”. The footage has drawn criticism towards Jake, compelling the former couple to issue a response.
In a joint statement provided to Us Weekly, they explained: “We’ve seen a conversation around clips of us together when we were in a relationship, and people making harmful and inaccurate assumptions about our dynamic.
“We were in a loving, respectful relationship for five years [and] it’s hurtful to see playful moments dissected in a way that does not reflect the respect and love we had and still have for each other.”
Mika’s romantic life isn’t the only aspect drawing viewer interest – leading actor Belmont Cameli’s partnership with writer Raina Morris has similarly become a focal point of online discussion.

Off Campus Season 1 draws from the debut instalment in the book series, The Deal. It explores the unexpected connection between Hannah Wells (Ella Bright) and Garrett Graham (Belmont Cameli).
The pair hail from vastly contrasting backgrounds, yet their paths cross when Garrett requests Hannah become his unofficial philosophy instructor. As part of the arrangement, Garrett agrees to assist Hannah in attracting her crush’s notice.
However, what begins as a strictly practical agreement gradually develops into something deeper.
