Filmmaker Eric Steel says having his stepfather, the late starchitect Charles Gwathmey, design his loft in New York’s Chelsea neighborhood was a great moment in time for both of them.
“My dad was in his prime as an artist,” says Steel. It was the year 2000, and Steel says his father had clients that were titans in the worlds of entertainment, art and finance. “There wasn’t a sector that didn’t understand the value of having Charles Gwathmey design your home,” he says, speaking from his residence in Amagansett, New York.
