Mr Presley will play a key role in supporting the firm’s growth plans while helping to develop its wider team.
A member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and the Chartered Insurance Institute, Mr Presley specialises in advising families, professionals and business owners.
During his career, he has worked at boutique firms focused on ethical investment as well as some of the UK’s largest wealth management groups.
His appointment follows a record year for Murphy Wealth, which reported a 20% increase in turnover, taking revenue to almost £3 million.
The firm expects to significantly increase headcount during the remainder of 2026 and has already welcomed graduate recruit Lucy Arbuckle.
Shane Presley said: “Murphy Wealth is all about understanding clients, their circumstances, and providing a service that matches those exact needs – that really resonated with me and aligns with the way I’ve aimed to work throughout my career.
“With tax changes and pensions being brought into people’s estates from next year, the advice we give to clients and taking a holistic approach to financial planning has seldom been more important.
“It’s an exciting time to join a growing firm that has genuinely committed to human-first financial planning – it’s already clear to me that the clients value the service Murphy Wealth offers and buy into its philosophy.
“This is a unique role and precisely what I was looking for at this point in my career.”
Adrian Murphy, CEO of Murphy Wealth, said: “Shane is a great addition to our team: he gets what we are trying to deliver for our clients and his values are closely aligned with our own.
“He understands that good financial planning is about more than money, it’s about helping people live the lives they want.
“Murphy Wealth continues to go from strength to strength, and Shane’s arrival helps take us further along that journey.”
