The Guam Museum is proud to announce its upcoming exhibition, “Mark Dell’Isola: A Retrospective 1986-2026,” opening with a public reception on Friday, July 10, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
This landmark exhibition will run through October 16, 2026. This comprehensive exhibition spans four decades of work by one of the region’s most prominent contemporary abstract artists from Guam and the broader Pacific region.
Mark Dell’Isola’s work is highly regarded for its synthesis of traditional art methods and modern technical execution. Heavily influenced by the unique natural and cultural environments, marine life and light spectrums of Guam, Palau, Bali, and Japan, his large-scale work captures the spirit of island ecology.
His distinct style, noted by the Washington Post for its “controlled explosion” of pure color spectrums and detailed organic geometries, captures the raw power of the Pacific.
Dell’Isola’s work has previously earned placement in prestigious permanent global collections including The Smithsonian Institution in Washington,D.C., Belau National Museum, and the IberCaja Cultural Center, Zaragoza, Spain.
“I’m honored to share this 40-year journey with our community at the Guam Museum,” says Dell’Isola. “I invite everyone to come, revisit older works, and see the new pieces together in one place.”
